The 4.5 km long Alpine hiking trail leads through the wildly romantic Zügen Gorge, starting at Schmelzboden, where ore was once processed, and on to Wiesen station. Overcoming this gorge was a major challenge for a long time and left behind many traces of earlier trail, road and railway constructions. These testimonies provide insights into the development of our mobility and make the Zügen Gorge an important document in cultural history.
