Steam-Train ride
Full steam ahead through the Swiss canton of Graubünden
Step into the world of the steam era and experience a piece of railway history at first hand, with a historical sense of travel and plenty of steam included.
What began in 1889 with the opening of the section of line between Landquart and Klosters has become a rail network covering 385 kilometres. Rhaetian Railway has long been running on electricity, but for fans of historic trains the RhB steam engine is being stoked up again. With the power of just water, fire and sometimes even “low-emission eco fuel oil”, the venerable steam horse pulls the enchanting old trains through the Swiss canton of Graubünden. Full steam ahead through the picturesque Engadin, along the Rhine through the Surselva and through the wildly romantic Landwasser Valley. Always with the smell of the long-gone age of steam: a genuine romantic steam train ride.
Journey in the 1st class in the Belle époque Coupé to 6 places (with 2 window seats each, max. 24 seats) with welcome aperitif and coffee with fine Engadine cake (on 14. and 15.10.2023) or biscuits (for all other steam rides). Bookable through the Verein Dampffreunde Bonaduz, on +41 81 641 11 78 or by e-mail to kundendienst(at)dampfvereinrhb.ch
