The Bernina Express lets two people travel far together – from Chur to Poschiavo, Le Prese or Tirano and back for just CHF 249.00, with lunch included.
The extra-large panoramic windows on the Bernina Express are sure to turn the mountain landscape of Graubünden into a cinematic experience! This feast for the eyes is followed by a treat for the palate in Valposchiavo or in Tirano, where a plate of pizzocheri – buckwheat noodles – awaits. Enjoy this regional speciality before travelling back through the UNESCO World Heritage landscape aboard the Bernina Express.
The Bernina Express special offer runs from 01 November 2025 to 31 January 2026.
The special offer is valid for two people and the following are included in the price of CHF 249.00
Travel on board the Bernina Express in 2nd class to Poschiavo, Le Prese or Tirano and back
Seat reservations for outward and return travel in the modern panoramic cars
Lunch in Poschiavo/Le Prese/Tirano: Salad starter and pizzoccheri with mortadella, excl. drinks at a chosen partner restaurant. A vegetarian menu can be ordered on request
The offer may not be used in conjunction with other travel discounts like GA, BÜGA, SwissTravelPass and similar. It is limited and can also be booked as a two-day trip.

Due to construction work, the track between Bergün and Preda will be closed to rail traffic from 3 - 17 November 2025. The Bernina Express will therefore be rerouted via Vereina (Chur - Landquart - Klosters - Sagliains - Pontresina).
Catering
The mini bar on board the Bernina Express serves delicious snacks and refreshing drinks. There is no dining car on the train.
The special offer includes a salad starter and pizzoccheri (buckwheat noodles) with mortadella sausage in the restaurant of your choice in Poschiavo, Le Prese or Tirano. A vegetarian menu can be ordered on request.

Travelling with a disability
The Rhaetian Railway does everything it can to make travelling by train as pleasant an experience as possible for people with impaired mobility. And that also includes the journey on the Bernina Express.
There are special seats available on the Bernina Express for passengers with impaired mobility who cannot leave their wheelchair. These seats must be booked using our Railservice by calling +41 81 288 65 65 or sending an e-mail to railservice@rhb.ch
The boarding and alighting assistance must be ordered in advance from the SBB Call Center Handicap by calling +41 (0)800 007 102 or completing the following form.
It is possible to take luggage on the Bernina Express. However, the space available is limited. For this reason, we ask that you only travel with hand luggage if possible to ensure the comfort and safety of all passengers.
Would you prefer to have your luggage delivered? We will bring your luggage from station to station or even from door to door, so you can enjoy your journey on the Bernina Express even more.
Self-service bicycle transport is not allowed on the Bernina Express. Please use the marked compartments or luggage cars on the regional (Regio) trains.
Dogs are allowed on the Bernina Express and do not require a reservation. Depending on the size of the dog, a dog ticket is required. Information can be found here .
Please make sure you have the necessary documents with you for crossing the border into Italy.
